Don't Waste Money on Etsy Ads... Use These Powerful Techniques Instead
I know, Etsy ads are powerful if you know how to use them.
However, they can also be a waste of money.
If you are a new seller, DON’T use ads.
In 99% of cases, you will not be profitable.
Instead, try these powerful techniques, that I personally use.
METHOD #1
Time Square Method
This is a simple method I use to dominate different niches.
Let me explain it.
I take a keyword I want to rank for. For example “flamingo clipart”. Then I create up to 10 designs that are similar to the selling one and can rank for that keyword.
I also connect these designs with links.
In fact, I'm adding 3-5 links to the description of the listing that point to other design listings.
So, if someone is searching for the flamingo clipart, I already have multiple designs available.
And many of them are on the first page of the Etsy search for that keyword.
METHOD #2
Discount Bundles
This is a new feature on Etsy.
It allows you to bundle up to three similar listings and offer a discount when someone buys them together.
This is a free feature and can be set up in a few seconds.
I have already made a video tutorial about it, so if you are interested, you can watch it here.
METHOD #3
Master SEO
Like it or not, SEO (search engine optimization) is a reason why people are finding your listings on Etsy.
This is because Etsy has its own search engine, which pulls data from your listings and ranks them based on a few (secret) criteria.
So, as an Etsy seller, you have to learn SEO.
No… you have to master SEO.
The better you become, the more money you can earn.
Here is a simple SEO guide for you.
METHOD #4
Offer Small Discounts
People enjoy buying products at a discount. They simply like the deal.
On Etsy, it is recommended to set up at least a 20% discount for all listings in your shop.
The 20% discount is the minimum needed to slightly boost your listings.
I'm still testing whether offering discounts is good or bad for my shop on Etsy marketplaces, and I'm still not sure.
Here is my journey…
In my opinion, you should offer a discount if you rely on traffic from the Etsy marketplace.
But if you can attract visitors outside Etsy, it's up to you.
TOOLS I LIKE TO USE
Design elements: Creative Fabrica
Email marketing: Beehiiv
Disclaimer: Within the article, you will find affiliate links. If you decide to purchase through these links, I want to sincerely assure you that I will receive a commission at no extra cost to you.
For some sellers, ads work; for others, they do not.
That is the sad reality of selling on Etsy.
And if you decide not to spend a dollar on ads on Etsy, I hope you find something valuable in this post.
Have a wonderful and productive day,
